Car Fire Causes Major Delays on Northern State
Plainview firefighters called to put out fully involved vehicle on westbound shoulder.
A fully involved car fire on the westbound shoulder of the Northern State Parkway Friday caused major rush hour traffic delays.
responded to the call just at 8 a.m. and came upon the vehicle engulfed in flames on the westbound side of the parkway at Sunnyside Boulevard, firefighters said.
Firefighters quickly knocked down and extinguished the blaze.

One lane of the parkway was closed during the operation, resulting in major delays for west bound commuters during the morning commute.
