Confronting Prejudice, Discrimination in Memory of Dr. King

Young Israel of Plainview plans major event on Saturday, Jan. 12.

There is no need to feel helpless in the face of prejudice and discrimination.

That's the theme of an upcoming event honoring the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King at Young Israel of Plainview.

Rabbi Dr. Steven A. Moss, spiritual leader of B'nai Israel Reform Temple of Oakdale, N.Y. will be the featured speaker on Saturday, Jan. 12.

The evening of education and action, which will center on what communities can do in the face of hatred and bigotry, begins at 7:30 p.m. at Young Israel of Plainview, 132 Southern Parkway, Plainview.

The event is free and open to the public.
