Plainview JFK students will take part in the Art League of Long Island's fifth annual "Go APE" Exhibition.
A total of 125 "advanced placement" art students from 34 Long Island high schools, including JFK, will exhibit their talents in a wide spectrum of visual arts, including drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, photography, and computer graphics in a professional gallery setting.
"APE Awards" (statuettes designed by Dan Christoffel) will be given out at the opening reception and will recognize outstanding work created in each of the following categories: drawing portfolio, 2D design portfolio, and 3D design portfolio.
The exhibit at the Tengelsen Gallery in Dix Hills opens Sunday with a reception for the students from 3-5 p.m. Admission to the Gallery is free and open to the public. Donations are appreciated.
The Gallery is open Monday – Friday: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and weekends: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
