S'lichot Service at Temple Beth Elohim

Traditional prayer service adds music in preparation for High Holy Days

Members and guests of Temple Beth Elohim observed S'lichot on Saturday, marking the beginning of our formal period of self-reflection as we prepare for our High Holy Days.

Leading up to the formal night time penitential poems and prayers, the community enjoyed an evening of music with the Dodd Ellsworth Trio, comprised Matthew Schneider, Dodd Ellsworth, and Frank Ferrara. The group performed a series of original compositions in a variety of musical styles.

Synagogues all over the world hold S'lichot services to welcome the coming of the High Holy Days. For example, in Plainview Saturday a coffee house was part of the service at the Plainview Jewish Center.

Temple Beth Elohim is a Reform congregation serving the Plainview - Old Bethpage and surrounding communities since 1955.
