There's plenty of time to upload a picture of your kid and enter Patch's Halloween Contest.

Happy Halloween. After the bitter chill and rain of Saturday today's trick-or-treating forecast calls for sunny skies and temperatures appropriately fall like. 

There's lots of Halloween events around town geared at young and old. Among them is Patch's contest. Four local parents have uploaded pictures of their kids already. You must see these great shots.

On Monday:

1. Our contest concludes today. Celebrity judge Heidi Klum will select the Grand Prize winner for the kid in America with the most most creative Halloween costume. Patch will take the winner to New York or Los Angeles for a two day, three night trip for two that includes a meet and greet with Heidi, plus a donation of $1,031 to a local charity of the winner's choice. Nine runners up will also get a $1,031 donation from Patch to a local charity of their choice.

The creative folks in Plainview and our surrounding communities have a real shot at winning one of these prizes. They could make a big difference to a local food bank, religious group or civic organization. All you have to do is upload cool photos of your kids in costume to have a chance.

2. Halloween also should remind parents of safety concerns. Here's our recent story with some good tips for kids and parents.

3. The meets tonight in a public session scheduled for 7:45 p.m. at the district offices at . It is likely that the weekend's events at the football game will be a topic of discussion. On Sunday, Plainview Superintendent was quoted in Newsday as saying "We certainly are going to review our decision-making," in light of the students hospitalized for hypothermia.
