Long time Plainview Resident, Fran Pearlmutter was recognized at a recent Friends of the Library Meeting by County Executive Ed Magano's office for her accomplishments and dedication to our country in World War II. Her distinguished service, breaking Japanese code, was celebrated by the Friends of the Library and also highligted recently in Newsday. According to Friends Co-President Carol Meschkow, Fran has led an exciting life as a trailblazer; she is a wonderful mentor for young women, and a valued member of our organization. We are thrilled for Fran's well deserved recognition and honor.
