Temple Chaverim is proud to partner with UJA-Federation of New York's Connections program to ensure that children in need on Long Island return to school with the tools they need to succeed. There is a collection bin in the Temple's lobby for anyone to contribute any of the following items:
- backpacks
- loose-leaf binders & paper
- spiral and marble notebooks
- pocket folders
- book covers
- index cards
- pencil cases, crayons, markers & highlighters
- colored pencils
- metric/U.S. rulers
- scissors
- glue sticks & tape protractors
Volunteers who are also interested in participating in the annual backpack assembly program from Tuesday, Aug. 14 through Thursday, Aug. 16 can contact Orna Sheena at UJA in Syosset at 516-677-1832.
Stop in to Temple Chaverim today and give as generously as you can to help children succeed this school year! During the summer, we are open Monday through Thursday, from 8:30am-4pm and Fridays from 8:30am-1pm.
