10K Race for ASPIRE (Re-Fuel with Cupcakes!)

Don't miss the 34th Annual Nationwide10K Race for ASPIRE!

The Annual Nationwide 10K Run for will be taking place on Sunday April 3. If you love cupcakes you will want to be a part of this event, even if sweets are not your thing, you will not want to miss this 34th annual event, sponsored by the Greater Long Island Running Club.

Everyone who participates in this charity race will get to indulge in an oversized delicious confection of their choice, courtesy of All Round Foods located in Westbury. These popular baked goods are distributed throughout the Tri-State region. All Rounds Foods has generously offered to provide all race participants with their “incredible cupcakes.”

Registration is already underway for this 6.2 mile race. Around 1,000 runners and walkers are expected to come together on April 3, at 9 a.m. ASPIRE is a not-for-profit organization that provides rehabilitation services to youth and adult amputees. ASPIRE has helped children and adults, as well as the families to learn to live active healthy lifestyles after losing a limb or being born without one. Help support this wonderful mission by taking part in this event.

The race will start at on Washington Avenue and continue through the streets of Plainview. The day will also feature a kid’s 1-mile fun run at 9:15 a.m.

In addition to the cupcakes and other post-race refreshments, all participants will receive a top-quality long sleeve technical shirt and have a chance to win raffles and free post-race massages. The race organizers are also offering a $500 cash prize if the overall male and/or female winner sets a new course record.

The current record for male is 30:27 and female is 34:55. Regardless of the finishing times the top Male and Female Overall and Masters Runners will receive an ASPIRE trophy, plus a pair of Mizuno USA running shoes, courtesy of the and Mizuno USA.

Trophies will also be provided for the top three male and female winners in the 5 year age groups, for wheelchair athletes, Clydesdales and Athenas. There are also special awards to the first male and female AK and BK amputees. All Fun Run participants will also receive medals.
