A Sunday Filled With Entertainment Around Plainview

There are afternoon performances in Plainview Sunday of two musicals, one new, one classic.

It's a rainy Sunday and a perfect day to get out and enjoy local entertainment. A brand new musical is playing at CAP, a classic plays the Plainview Jewish Center, and a free concert is offered at the Bethpage library.

1.. "6," a new musical by Zach Zadek, continues Sunday at the , at 3 p.m. The story line is about six New Yorkers who find their lives intersecting after boarding a subway. Price $20. Also, next weekend.

2. performs at the Bethpage Public Library at 2 p.m. in a free concert. This sister duo takes the audience on a musical journey saluting female vocalists past and present, including impersonations and much audience participation. Part of the Town of Oyster Bay'sseries. Free.

3. The classic Broadway musical continues its run at the  Sunday with a cast filled with regional talent and even some political celebrities. With the music of Sheldon Harnick and Jerry Bock (collaborators of "Fiddler on the Roof") it's the life and times of New York's colorful, reforming mayor Last night's opening sold out but tickets are available today. Curtain is at 3 p.m. Cost $18 in advance; $22 at the door.  

4.The stormy Russian Revolution is the backdrop for an exhibit of poster art at the in Roslyn. The message of the Revolution was spread through these inexpensively produced posters.
