Christmas Day Services All Around Plainview
For some who don't celebrate the holiday, this is a traditional day for take-out food and a movie.
It's Christmas Day, a religious celebration and a state and federal holiday. Banks and government offices and most businesses are closed.
Following a long night of Chistmas Eve services, area churchs will hold Christmas Day services. has them at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. ch Mass at 7:30, 9, and 10:30 a.m. and noon.

3. The Long Island Railroad is running on a holiday schedule. This weekend the LIRR offers dramatically reduced fares for children riding with adults.
For those who don't celebrate the holiday, there's an unwritten tradtion of taking in some take-out and attending a new-run movie. Many Chinese restaurants are open today, including The on Old Country Road or the on Central Park Road.
