Dr. Dorit Ben-Moha Named Medical Staff President

Long Island resident named to prestigious post at Plainview Hospital

Long Island internist Dr. Dorit Ben-Moha has been named President of the Medical Staff at Previously Dr. Dorit had served as Treasurer. 

The announcement to the prestigious post was made on May 20 as many Plainview and Syosset Hospital doctors looked on.

Since opening her private practice in 1999, Dr. Dorit has become indispensible in the medical community, serving as the primary care physician for the general population as well as many fellow doctors and nurses. She is credited with her devotion to treating mentally and physically challenged adults and is a driving force in helping Long Islanders learn to make healthy lifestyle choices.

Hospital officials said Dr. Dorit is known for highly personalized care and takes time to provide each person the individual attention needed to achieve optimum health.

“I am deeply honored and appreciative that Plainview Hospital has chosen to reward me with this position,” Dr. Dorit said. “I’ll continue to focus on serving the many patients that walk through the hospital doors.”

Dr. Dorit is affiliated with Plainview Hospital, a member of the North Shore-LIJ Health System. She is President of the Medical Staff at Plainview Hospital and serves on its pharmaceutical and wellness committees. Active in her community, Dr. Dorit was recognized in 2010 by the , which held the 7th Annual Heart & Sole 5K Run in her honor. She received the Professional Mentorship Award from Molloy College and the Novartis Award for the treatment of cardiovascular disease. She also received a 2010 Healthcare Hero award by Long Island Business News. In addition, she works closely with nursing students and medical assistant students at Molloy College and Hunter College.

Dr. Dorit resides on Long Island with her family.

Plainview Hospital, a member of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, is an acute care community hospital with 239 beds. The hospital treats patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, pediatric, obstetric and gynecological conditions.
