Last Chance: Author to Discuss Novels at North Shore Synagogue

Reception, lecture by author of "Rashi's Daughters" set for Thursday evening.

Renowned author Maggie Anton will be the special guest of a wine and cheese reception at the North Shore Synagogue Thursday evening.

Anton is the award-winning author of Rashi’s Daughters, historical fiction novels set in the household of the great medieval Jewish scholar, whose daughters studied Talmud when these sacred texts were forbidden to women.

The author's new series, Rav Hisda’s Daugther, takes place in Third Century Babylonia as the Talmud is being created.

Anton will be will be discussing, selling and signing her latest book during the program. The synagogue invites the community to learn and discuss how Anton does her research and is inspired to write her books.

Co-sponsored by North Shore Synagogue’s Lifelong Learning Program and the Sisterhood, the reception begins at 7 and the program starts at 7:30 p.m. Syosset's North Shore Synagogue recently was merged with Temple Beth Elohim in Old Bethpage.
