Plainview's Seniors Have Options Wednesday

The library offers an exercise program at noon; the YJCC has a presentation on the golden age of television.

Wednesday brings an assortment of events in Plainview, from programs geared toward older local residents to a seminar for single men on the workings of the female mind.

Here's today's line-up:

1. has scheduled an exercise program for older residents. The light workout, designed to strengthen bones, is at noon.

2. The  conducts a program on the golden age of TV for residents 60 years and older. The discussion, from 2:30 - 4 p.m., is led by Brian Rose. Tickets are $8.

3. Gentlemen, this is for you: A seminar entitled "Understanding Women." In the one-hour session, sponsored by  "you will learn to work with women instead of being frustrated, learn how women think, what are women looking for in a man and a variety of other topics," according to the group's announcement. The seminar happens every Wednesday 7:30 p.m. at the The cost is $25.

4. The library has two showings of the film "Salt" starring Angelina Jolie: A CIA agent goes on the run after a defector accuses her of being a Russian spy. 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

5. The wrestling team is at home to take on Herricks today at 5:30 p.m. at the high school on Kennedy Drive.
