Presidents Day Holiday Offers Events Around Town

There's Israeil folk dancing at the American Legion; tax help for seniors.

Today is Presidents Day, a federal holiday. State, federal and local government offices and the courts are closed. There is no mail delivery. Plainview schools are closed all this week for winter break. Most banks are closed Monday.

1. Here's a great chance to learn in a group setting. The  on Southern Parkway hosts the session with instructors Ellen Golann and Sid Fidelman. Mondays 9-10 a.m. for beginners, 10-12:30 p.m. for imtermediate. Price: $10.

2. The  holds a special exhibition Monday entitled "Posters of the Russian Revolution," from 11 a.m.-4:45 p.m. in Roslyn. The posters communicate the messages of the Revolution to a largely illiterate Russian masses. Cost: $10, $8, $4 (members free.)

3. The , on Manetto Hill Road has lots to offer today. From 10:30 a.m.– 3:30 p.m. Young people in grades K-6 can see a movie, eat popcorn and have fun swimming and using the gym. Please pack a bathing suit and towel. Also a kosher lunch will be served. Members- $55; Non-Members- $65
