Tour Roosevelt's "Summer White House;" Cheer on Cast of "Rent"

A sunny day is in store as winter break comes to an end.

The recent weather kaleidoscope continues Saturday. Friday's heavy rain and strong wind will be replaced Saturday by a sunny day in the 30s. Sunday could bring wet weather, even a chance of ice.

1. Here's a memorable way to finish off the kids' President's Day winter break: Take them to a president's home. Teddy Roosevelt was a Long Islander like us. The Sagamore Hill National Historic Site in Cove Neck, near Oyster Bay, is open today and tomorrow from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The 26th President's 23-room mansion contains much of its original contents that was used by the Roosevelt family at the "Summer White House." Cost: $5 adults, under 15 free.

2. The musicalis in its final weekend at the .There are performances Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m. as well as a 4 p.m. matinee on Sunday. This is the young people's performance of Jonathan Larson's Pulitzer Prize winning musical, based on the life of East Village Bohemians in the era of AIDS. Cost: $18.

3. The  has a program today for young people to create art and poetry inspired by the illustrations of  in "Let's Have A Bite! A Banquet of Beastly Rhymes," the current exhibition at the Art Space. Cost: Free with museum admission.

4.  holds its bowling league for special needs people, ages 5-adult, from 2-4 p.m. Saturday. Cost: $5 a week for 2 games and shoes.
