The Veterans History Project, in collaboration with the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., is in full swing at Atria Senior Living in Plainview.
Veterans are offered the honor of having their stories filmed on camera and preserved for all time, both as a tribute to them and as a living legacy for generations to come.
Leon Lusterman, who served in the Army - 1st Infantry Division during WWII and received a Purple Heart, was the first of 2013 to be interviewed.
Atria Plainview is working in partnership with Queens College videographers, students who will be earning internship credits for their role in the project.
