Wind Should Die Down but Snow is Forecast

The Plainview area has lots to offer today before the wet weather hits.

The  extended its high wind advisory from Saturday into Sunday morning and warns of a minor snow storm heading toward Long Island Sunday night into Monday.

The high winds, which exceeded 50 mph on Saturday, caused some minor power outages and a general wind-blown mess around the region. The winds will diminish somewhat Sunday with a high near 34. But Sunday night's forecast is for snow that may linger into the morning Monday.

Sunday's events include:  

1.  offers world-class musicians performing precise renditions of The Beatles' landmark Abbey Road album along with a selection of band's hits chosen by the audience. The Tilles Center is on Route 25A at the C.W.Post campus in Brookville. Price: $25.00-$45.00.

2. The , on Jericho Turnpike in nearby Woodbury is the setting for a singles discussion group at 3:30p.m. Sunday. Today's discussion: Sex, Honesty and Relationships for singles 49-69. Price: $7 plus cost of food.

3. The  holds a special exhibition Sunday entitled "Posters of the Russian Revolution," from 11 a.m.-4:45 p.m. in Roslyn. The posters communicate the messages of the Revolution to a largely illiterate Russian masses. Cost: $10, $8, $4 (members free.)

4. R.C. Church has its weekly at 5:30 p.m.  All teens are invited to a special service geared toward the young.
