Evening Update: NWS Predicting 3-6 Inches by Morning

The focus around Plainview Thursday is various forms of self-improvement.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Long Island, predicting an overnight snow storm that could leave up to 6 inches of snow to Plainview by mid-day Friday.

Forecasters say the snow should begin falling after 10 p.m., spreading over Long Island from the west Thursday night. Accumulations could be 2-4 inches by morning.

On Friday, another 1-2 inches could be falling during the morning rush hour, disrupting school schedules and commuting. The skies are expected to clear mid-day Friday.
