Art Students Win Fire Prevention Poster Contest

Contest honors memory of deceased firefighter.

Three Plainview JFK art students were recently awarded first, second and third place in the Capt. Stu Schwartz Fire Prevention Poster Contest.

In honor of Capt. Schwartz, who died in 2004, the Plainview Fire Department established the contest to demonstrate the department's continued commitment to education for the safety of the children in the community.

Deputy Chief Craig Adelman presented the awards to the three freshman students.
