1 Parents and grandparents of young children can take advantage of a free car seat safety check in nearby Hicksville.  is sponsoring the event from 1-4 p.m. at his district office on Levittown Parkway. Appointments are needed to reserve a spot; call 516-937-3571.

4. Nassau Community College presents John Patrick Shanley's play: "Doubt," Friday at 8 p.m. Set in 1964 at a  Bronx Catholic school, a conservative nun suspects a progressive priest of sexual abuse against an altar boy. The audience must decide if the nun’s sense of judgment is being clouded by her dislike of the priest. Price: $9, seniors $7.
