Free Performances Coming to Local Libraries in January

January's events in the Town of Oyster Bay are a celebration of diversity.

The Town of Oyster Bay's 2013-2014 Distinguished Artists Concert series continues in January with varied performances at libraries throughout the town.

“This program, which is one of the town’s most popular, runs through May 2014 and features performances by a diverse collection of musical acts and dance programs,” said Councilwoman Rebecca Alesia.

“These concerts, all free of charge, help illustrate how truly diverse the interests of our residents here in the town are, and provide them with the finest cultural and performing arts entertainment," Alesia said.

There are four remaining concerts in January: They are:

  • Sunday, Jan. 12, at 1 p.m. at the Massapequa Public Library: a performance of soulful R&B, blues, rock and jazz from Danny Kean & Friends.
  • Sunday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m., Estampas Folkloricas Peru presents a program of traditional folk dance and music at the Hicksville Public Library at 169 Jerusalem Ave.
