       1.      “A View From the Bridge”

Why Go: See Arthur Miller’s tragic drama which is set in Brooklyn in the 1950’s, inspired by the true story of a dockworker whose subconscious lust for his young niece causes him, with disastrous results, to inform on two illegal immigrants.

      2.      Billy Joel Tribute

Where/When: Harry Chapin Lakeside Theater, Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, 516-572-0355, Saturday July 16@ 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: See Henry Haid and his Glass Houses Only in America band perform a tribute to the music of Billy Joel.

   3.      Autofest Car Show

When/Where: Sears Auto Center, 195 N. Broadway Hicksville, 516-882-5022, nyautofest.com., Sunday July 17 @ 8 a.m.

Why Go: The New York AutoFest™ is a  series of car shows held throughout the summer. All shows help raise funds for charitable organizations such as the Knights of Columbus.  There will be live entertainment, food, hundreds of cars, trucks and bikes on display.

Pricing: $5, free for children under 12, $20 to show car

   4.      Flea Market

Where/When: Life Enrichment Center at Oyster Bay, 45 E. Main St., Oyster Bay, 516-922-1770,  Friday  @ 10-a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday @ 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.

Why Go: Variety of items for purchase including furniture, and china, proceeds benefit the center

    5.      Huntington Summer Arts Festival: Harry Chapin: A Celebration in Song

Where/When: Heckscher Park, 2 Prime Ave., at Route 25a, Huntington, 631-271-8423. huntingtonarts.org, Saturday @ 8:30 p.m.

Why Go: Celebrate the life and career of the late singer/social activist Harry Chapin.

Pricing: Free (bring canned goods for Long Island Cares!)
