Plainview Library Hosts Book Signing; Musical Returns to CAP

"Sag Harbor" author Colson Whitehead will lead a discussion and sign his book tonight.

The Plainview Library hosts a book signing event tonight with author Colson Whitehead, one of many cultural options around town Thursday.

4. The , hosts a book signing event Thursday at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Long Island Reads program. Meet the author of "Sag Harbor," Colson Whitehead, who will speak and sign copies of his book. Free: Open to public.

2. The , presents the American composer William Finn's autobiographical musical "A New Brain." The 1998 musical, which opened off Broadway to critical success, is one man's story about conquering his fear of dying with his greatest songs still unwritten. While stuck writing stories for children's TV, a brain injury puts his life in perspective. Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m. Tickets: $20.

3. The 's exhibit entitled"Neighbors Who Disappeared," is a moving series of panels made by young people to commemorate the Jews lost in . The exhibit will run every week on Tuesdays-through-Fridays until May 1. Open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.; free and open to the public.

4. The  girls lacrosse team travels to Valley Stream to take on Central at 4:30 p.m.
