Spring Break Means Options for Parents and Kids

Adventureland is open in Farmingdale; National Parks are cost-free this week.

With the kids out of school, it's a great opportunity to take advantage of spring-break specials all around the area. Advenureland has opened this week in nearby Farmingdale, and National Parks, like Sagamore Hill, are free to the public all this week.

1.  Adventureland Amusement Park, with rides, games, and food, is open for spring break week. The park is open from 11 a.m.–7 p.m. Price: $21 for kids 4 feet and under, $25 for everyone taller.

2. The Long Island Stock Traders Group meets at the  at 6:30 p.m. to discuss financial topics related to the stock market: Open to ll

3. The Nassau County in Roslyn has lots to offer, including a display of the poster art of the 1917 October Revolution. These graphic, inexpensively produced posters carried the Revolution’s message to the masses. Open from 11:00 a.m.–4:45 p.m.

4. With school out, there's great opportunities to visit local points of interest. The 40 acres of the historic Bailey Arboretum in Lattingtown is open daily and free to the public. Or head to Cove Neck and Sagamore Hill, the home of President Theodore Roosevelt, offers insights into the life and times of the 26th president. And, since this is National Park Week, admission to Sagamore Hill is free, as well.
