Plainview-JFK Senior s artwork was honored at a recent exhibition at the United Ink Tattoo and Body Arts Expo.
Last weekend's show at the Nassau Coliseum included the work of more than 250 world renowned artists. It featured art galleries, seminars, live tattooing, piercing, contests, awards, and entertainment.
One of the artists being featured by the Dali Dynasty Gallery is Master Artist Francisco Ciccio Poblet, who studied under Salvador Dali during the late 40’s.
Saltzman won first place for a 9/11-inspired piece of a firetruck called "Some Gave All" done in acrylic. He also took first place in the fine art category for his chalk pastel drawing of Coke and Sprite called, "Pop Culture."
Saltzman's participation in this exhibition follows a school year in which he had two of his drawings selected to be exhibited in juried art exhibitions. The first, a colored pencil drawing, titled Sweet Sensations, was selected by a juried art exhibition at the Tillis Center for the Performing Arts.
The second, a mixed media piece, titled "Breakthrough," was recognized by the Heckscher Museum as part of Long Island’s Best Young Artists Exhibition of 2012.
