Saltzman won first place for a 9/11-inspired piece of a firetruck called "Some Gave All" done in acrylic. He also took first place in the fine art category for his chalk pastel drawing of Coke and Sprite called, "Pop Culture."

Saltzman's participation in this exhibition follows a school year in which he had two of his drawings selected to be exhibited in juried art exhibitions. The first, a colored pencil drawing, titled Sweet Sensations, was selected by a juried art exhibition at the Tillis Center for the Performing Arts.
