Homecoming Marks Happy Ending for Plainview

Saturday's game surrounded by pomp and ceremony. Hawks fall, 23-0 to Syosset.

Plainview JFK's 2013 Homecoming celebration had special meaning for the entire community.

On an overcast, yet picturesque fall day Saturday, a large crowd was on hand to watch the formal dedication of Plainview's new turf athletic field, a project years in the making and now completed with lights and a new scoreboard.

Legislator Judy Jacobs, D-Woodbury, was in attendance to celebrate Plainview's new beginning. Dr. Lorna Lewis and other dignitaries were on hand for the homecoming parade and dedication. So was Oyster Bay Supervisor John Venditto, who was instrumental in providing the town funding that rebuilt Plainview's home field.
