Plainview Says 'Let There Be Lights'

A glowing tribute to the community's hard work lights up Plainview.

In Latin, the phrase from the opening lines of Genesis is "fiat lux."

In Hebrew, it's "יְהִי אוֹר"(pronounced: yehi 'or)

The famous Biblical phrase means "Let there be light."

And in Plainview they threw a switch and there was light, bathing the community's new turf field at Plainview-JFK High School in a long-awaited glow.

Plainview school officials released this photo on Monday and it says it all.

See our photos here from the first games played on the field last week. See the game story here.

The first night football game is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 11, against Valley Stream Central.
