Car Fire Put Down By Plainview Firefighters

An inferno in a car's engine compartment that set off smoke alarms inside a nearby building was quickly controlled by Plainview firefighters Wednesday.

Firefighters responded to multiple calls for help about 6:10 p.m. and found the car ablaze in the parking lot of Zwanger Pesiri Radiology at 680 Old Country Road, firefighters said.

The smoke from the fire set off alarms inside the building.

Firefighters put down the car fire as additional crews searched the interior of the building, looking for possible victims and extension into the medical office. No fire was found inside the building.

No injuries were reported, firefighters said.
