Chamber to Sponsor Candidates Forum Wednesday

Many Oyster Bay candidates to take part in Chamber breakfast event at the Marriott.

The Plainview-Old Bethpage is sponsoring a candidate's debate Wednesday morning at the in Plainview.

The 8 a.m. event, which is open to the public, has gotten committments from at least nine candidates, including Republican incumbent Supervisor John Venditto and his challenger, Democrat John Capobianco.

Long-time incumbent Nassau Legislator (D-Woodbury) has committed along with her Republican challanger, James Milano. Both are seeking the seat to the 16th Legislative District.

Councilwoman Rebecca Alesia, a Plainview Republican, and council challengers Allison McNally and Terrence Kelly, both Democrats, have also agreed to participate.

As of Monday afternoon, Eva Pearson, Democratic candidate for the 14th Legislative District, and incumbent Town Clerk Steve Labriola were also planning to attend.

The chamber breakfast and candidates forum is open to chamber members and the public -- there's a $5 charge for breakfast.
