Equipment Supplier Moving to Bethpage

Bematech relocates from New Hyde Park with assistance of Nassau County tax breaks.

A New Hyde Park business has been lured away to Bethpage with the help of tax breaks from the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency.

According to Nassau County officials, , a supplier of equipment to retailers and restaurants, relocated from it’s address on Denton Avenue in New Hyde Park to Bethpage Business Park – the large industrial complex once used by – as of Wednesday.

The developer of the 85.5-acre site, Steel Equities, received a number of tax breaks from the Nassau IDA, allowing it to give low-rent for Bematech.

“Bematech’s decision to move its North American offices from New Hyde Park to the , and its commitment to a continued investment in Nassau County, is a major benefit to our local economic base,” County Executive Ed Mangano said in a statement.

In a letter, Bematech general manager Juliet Derby thanked the county and Steel Equities for helping to facilitate the move.

“The decision was greatly influenced by your efforts with the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency to expand business in Nassau County.  Steel Equities in partnership with the Nassau Legislature communicated the advantages and the exciting new development plans for the area,” she wrote.
