Here's What Open Christmas Day

There are restaurants and drug stores open most of the day. And new films hit the big screen Sunday.

Forgot an ingredient? Need a gift to bring? Decide to eat out?

Unlike ghostlike Christmas' past, lots of stores and restaurants are open today in Plainview and nearby.

And, there is a Long Island tradition for non-Christians involving Chinese food and holiday movies today. Plainview and the immediate area has both Sunday.

Drug Stores: and in Plainview are open most of the day, including limited hours at the pharmacy. Check with the local stores for specific hours by following our directory links for phone numbers and web sites.

Restaurants; In general, Plainview's Chinese restaurants are open today, including the landmark in the Plainview Centre, Sunday until 9:30 p.m. Call your favorite and see if they're open. They're listed in our food and dining directory.

Movies: Film lovers have myriad choices today with major openings of Steven Spielberg's "War Horse" today along with half a dozen other first run films just hitting the big screen. Most are playing the Broadway Multiplex Cinemas in the Broadway Mall in Hicksville.
