Tuesday's job fair aims to help "residents find employment opportunities and improve their economic hardships," Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano said, in a statement.

Employers will be seeking candidates for positions at the entry and middle management level, as well as for licensed professionals and those in the hospitality industry, banking staffing, and individuals with technical and IT experience.

Many of the companies are currently hiring in marketing, human resources, business development, engineering and more.

The job fair comes at a time when the number of private sector jobs on Long Island has increased over the year by 30,500, a 2.9 percent increase, according to New York State Labor Department.

The department’s most recent reports show that Long Island boasts the fastest private sector job growth in all of the state’s metro areas.

And while about half of those jobs are in lower paying sectors such as retail, leisure and hospitality, a quarter were seen in higher-paying industries that employ skilled workers in such areas including care and professional, scientific, and technical services.

Still, some sectors saw job loss over the year, including manufacturing, information and financial activities, as well as local government education.

Meanwhile, Tuesday’s job fair opens at 9 a.m. for veterans, and 10 a.m. for general admission, and extends till 2 p.m., with opening remarks from Mangano scheduled for 9:45 a.m.

Attendees are asked to use the Liberty entrance at the conference center, which is located at 101 James Doolittle Boulevard in Uniondale.
