Sure, it's a free-enterprise system, etc. and businesses should be free to be open when ever they want. After all, the free market system, and capitalism, is the American way, etc.
On the other hand, people should have a little free time to themselves on a holiday, like the freedom to spend it with their families. All day: the entire day off, an actual paid holiday where you don't have to work.
