Trio Hardware's owners were honored Wednesday by Nassau County with its Small Business Award.
Bruce Carlow and his partner Todd Kirschner from Trio Hardware & Paint in Plainview received awards from Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano.
Trio Hardware has been in the Plainview-Old Bethpage community for 50 years and received the Small Business Award from Nassau County.
The business is staffed with eight full-time employees and over the years have hired hundreds of local high school students for part time help.
Trio is a strong supporter of community involvement and willingly lends a helping hand to many local concerns.
Trio's motto is "If we don't have it, you don't need it" and they do their best to live up to that everyday, organizers said.
