A Glen Cove restaurant says its insurance broker failed to forward its premium payments, which in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, left the eatery inoperable until late May.

Now the Water’s Edge at Jude Thaddeus Landing, which first opened in June 2012, is suing Plainview-based B&G Group for $2 million. In a lawsuit filed in State Supreme Court in Mineola, the restaurant said it saw nearly $250,000 in business interruption and $115,000 in food spoilage, Newsday reported Friday.

The eatery claims it lacks the money to bounce back from the storm, all because B&G never forwarded the restaurant’s insurance payments to Lloyds of London, prompting a cancellation of the policy, Newsday reports.

According to Water’s Edge, B&G surreptitiously replaced the policy with another, covering $5,000 for storm-incurred loss; the Lloyds of London policy would have provided the restaurant with up to $500,000 of coverage, Newsday reports.

An attorney for Water’s Edge told Newsday that the restaurant has fallen behind with payments as a result, and property is now on the market
