Update 1: Cancellations, Closings Because of Hurricane Irene

Plainview Patch will be regularly updating the list of places that are closed or have curtailed hours because of the storm.

• Sunday service at , 99 Central Park Road is canceled. Instead, there will be a service tonight at 5:30 p.m. and another on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

• Citizens Bank branches, including one in Hicksville, will be closing at 1 p.m. Saturday and will remain closed Sunday.

• Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library: Closing Saturday at 3 p.m. instead of 5:30 p.m. Remaining closed all day Sunday instead of opening from 1 to 9 p.m.

• Runner's Edge-TOBAY Triathlon schedule for Sunday has been canceled but Saturday morning’s junior triathlon will go on.

• Plainview athletes are encouraged to check the school district website for changes in practice schedules because of the weather.

• Nassau County ordered several closures.
