Holy Trinity Students Continue Work for Sandy Relief

"Have a Heart" campaign raises more than $850 by selling Valentine's cards.

The Junior class student council at Holy Trinity High School organized a campaign and raised over $850 for continuing Hurricane Sandy Relief efforts and named it “Have a Heart” to coincide with Valentine’s Day.

Members of the junior class Student Council, led by its’ president, Cory Robinson of Bethpage, knew that they wanted to raise money for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts immediately after the storm hit. They originally were going to sell Candy-grams during the Christmas season, but there were already many activities going on during that time, so they decided to move it to Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day cards were sold during lunch periods for $1. Students purchased the cards, filled them out and all of the cards were delivered to the recipients during homeroom on Valentine’s Day. After the final tally showed a total of over $850, Robinson was ecstatic.
