LIRR Expects Evening Rush Delays After a Messy Morning
Add extra time if you're commuting to and from Hicksville.
Commuters coming in and out of Hicksville had a difficult morning commute on the Long Island Rail Road Tuesday due to continuing problems associated with a train derailment.
Dozens of trains were canceled or re-routed because of the derailment inside one of Amtraxk's East River Tunnels Monday night.
As of late morning, the LIRR said on its website trains were operating on or close to schedule. But officials are warning that there will likely be more cancellations during the evening Rush Hour.
