Update: Old Bethpage Man Found

Allan Furman, reported missing Tuesday afternoon, has been found, Nassau Police say.

An Old Bethpage man, who had not been heard from since Tuesday at 6 p.m., prompting Nassau Police to issue a Silver Alert, has been reported found.

Nassau Police reported Allan Furman, 68, had been located as of 8 a.m. Thursday.

He was last seen at 93 S. Park Drive in Bethpage Tuesday afternoon.

He was travelling in a black late-model Nissan Altima with New York license plate No. BBV7850. According to police, Furman called his wife, sounded disoriented and said he was lost at Exit 43 of the Long Island Expressway.

Furman, who stands 5-foot-4 and weighs 150 pounds, was last seen wearing brown pants, brown shirt and a black leather jacket.

The Silver Alert Program has been established in order to disseminate immediate information to local media, hospitals and other organizations when a senior citizen or other individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other cognitive disorders goes missing.
