Fresh produce in Plainview and Old Bethpage

A bounty of fresh, local and organically grown fruits and vegetables are available close to your home.

Seasonal, organic certified farm stand located in the parking lot at Old Bethpage Village Restoration.

Restoration Farm is a private business that “has a contract from Nassau County to run the farm”, according to Caroline, an owner along with her husband Dan.  The 7 acre farm can be found on the grounds at the Village Restoration.

Some of the veggies for sale recently included garlic, tomatillos, purple carrots, Asian eggplant, tomatoes, lettuce and beans.  Offerings change weekly and shop early for the best selection. Memberships are available, inquire at the farm stand.

Hours: Open Monday through Friday - 8am to 8pm; Saturday - 9am to 7pm; Sunday - 10am to 6pm.

Owner operated store featuring all organic produce, health food, vitamins, gourmet eatery, and juice bar, with an emphasis on wheat and gluten free products.

Among the organic produce offered this week were: 2 varieties of yams, spinach, bok choy, avocados, apples, oranges, mushrooms, cabbage, radishes and potatoes.

 

Hours: Open every day - 7am to 10pm.

Traditional style grocery store specializing in organic, local and non-organic produce, kosher meat and products, hot and cold freshly prepared foods, deli counter, butcher, on premise roasted coffee, salad bar and hand rolled bagels.

Large selection of organic and non organic produce.

 

Hours: Open Monday through Saturday - 7am to 11pm; Sunday - 7am to 8pm.

Along with a selection of produce advertised “Grown in the USA”, this store also features seafood, bakery, deli and dairy departments.

Produce available this week included 3 varieties of plums, 2 types of pluots (a plum-apricot hybrid), specials on lemons and limes, and 3 varieties of grapes.  Numerous other fruits and veggies are on display.
