PJC to Host Big Purim Festival

Saturday's event begins with Megillah Reading at 6:30 p.m.; Carnival to follow.

The Plainview Jewish Center has announced its schedule for its annual Purim celebration.

The event also is an opportunity to help those in need:

Purim schedule:

Saturday, Feb. 23

  • 6:30 p.m. - Family Megillah Reading
  • 7:30 p.m. - Men's Club Ice Cream Social
  • 7:30 p.m. - Full Megillah Reading
  • 7:30 p.m. - Purim Carnival

Sunday, Feb. 24

  • 9 a.m. - Full Megillah Reading

Shake Out Hunger: 3 simple steps

  1. Bring a box of beans, pasta or rice to the Megillah reading. (Think noisy!!)
  2. Gently use it as a graggor.
  3. Place the box in the bins in the lobby after the Megillah reading.
  4. All donations support our local non-denominational food pantry at Our Lady of Mercy in Hicksville.

For more information, contact Amy Jospa at ajospa@verizon.net or the PJC office.

Just a short thought to get the word out quickly about anything in your neighborhood.
Share something with your neighbors. Write a new post... What's up? Make an announcement, speak your mind, or sell something

Richard, I agree. This road has so many potholes that were fixed, it dips and the county trees haveRead More lifted it up in areas that now hold water. I have ben living here for over 30 years, and I cannot recall it ever being done. It needs to be done soon, I so agree with you. Maybe Mangano will see this and do something, then again if we lived in Bethpage, it would of been done already.
