Video: Plainview Responds to Bin Laden’s Death

Plainview residents react to the news of Osama bin Laden's death in Pakistan.

Plainview residents reacted with subdued satisfaction on Monday, hours after news broke that al-Qaida leader and 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden had been killed.

“We are all happy here, we lost a lot of brothers,” Plainview Fire Department Commissioner Frank Rosato said. “There are a lot of brothers in the FDNY that are also volunteers here. We sent a lot of people down to 9/11 after it happened.”

Plainview lost four of its own in the Sept. 11 attacks: Steve Pollicino, Susan Ann Ruggiero, Adam Ruhalter and FDNY Capt. William Burke, Jr.
