Plainview Students Raise Money for Little Shelter

3 DECA members raise money, donations for hurricane-damaged shelter.

Three Plainview JFK High School students recently hosted a Hurricane Sandy fundraiser for Huntington’s Little Shelter Animal Rescue and Adoption Center.

DECA members Riis Massey-Williams, Samentha Valenza and Melissa Welger had tremendous success throughout the 6-hour fundraiser, collecting almost $700 and two carloads of pet food to be donated to the shelter.

The donations will benefit the Little Shelter Animal Rescue and Adoption Center, which suffered severe damage due to Hurricane Sandy.
