The high school and Mattlin Mddle School are closed because of a power failure. The offices for those schools have moved to Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School.
Hurricane Irene closed the district to halt all activities Monday.
Next Wednesday is the first day of school, with full day classes for all grades except kindergarten, which is a half day.

The district office could not be reached by phone Wednesday morning, with calls immediately going to the district's voicemail retrieval system. Patch is checking to see whether middle school move-in plans for the next two days are still scheduled.
