The National Weather Service issued a watch for a severe thunderstorm, in effect until 10 p.m. Monday.
Earlier, the weather service reported that quarter size hail and winds up to 60 MPH could affect the area.
The service had warned: "This is a dangerous storm. If you are in its path, prepare for damaging winds, destructive hail and deadly cloud to ground lightning. People outside should move to a shelter and away from windows."

An air quality alert was in effect until 1 a.m. Tuesday.
Meantime, the Long Island Rail Road said that trains on the Ronkonkoma, Port Jefferson, Oyster Bay, Babylon, Montauk and Hempstead Branches are experiencing delays of up to 60 minutes with the possibility of additional canceled and/or combined trains.
