1. The 9-11 Memorial Garden has its official opening today at 12:15 p.m. at the town park at the corner of Old Country Road and Hope Drive.
2. A 5K race to benefit the Plainview and Syosset Hospital goes off at 9 a.m. today. The race starts off at Plainview Old Bethpage Middle School, and is held in conjunction with the North Shore LIJ Health Care System.
