Weather May Dampen Memorial Day Plans

The Memorial Day Weekend could see showers and thunderstorms across Long Island, dampening holiday activities. The best day to see the air show at Jones Beach is probably Saturday. Monday'sin Plainview may require an umbrella.

1. Friday's forecast calls for showers and then gradual clearing, leading to a near perfect sunny Saturday with highs in the lower 80s.

2. But that could change rapidly Saturday into Sunday, when clouds and showers are possible. The showers and even thunderstorms could continue into Monday morning, according the the National Weather Service. By Monday afternoon, the clouds are supposed to clear in time for a Memorial Day barbecue.
