"LA DULCINEA" A SPRING GALA HONORING SUZANNE FARRELL - A BALLET LOVER'S DELIGHT!

The Frank Ohman School of Ballet/New York Dance Theatre will host a Spring Gala honoring the famed ballerina Suzanne Farrell at the Brookville Country Club on May 5th.  Ms. Farrell, former Principal Dancer with the New York City Ballet and former colleague of Frank Ohman, was celebrated as one of the most influential ballerinas of the 20th Century at the annual Kennedy Center Honors.  Ms, Farrell is also the recipient of the National Medal of Honor, the Capezio Dance Award, and was inducted into the National Museum of Dance's Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney Hall of Fame.  She founded and is artistic director of the Suzanne Farrell Ballet in Washington DC and has traveled the world as an Ambassador of the Balanchine legacy, teaching the intricacies of the roles that the legendary George Balanchine created for her over the years at New York City Ballet.  The evening offers a cocktail hour, full dinner buffet, tributes to Ms Farrell, film footage of her career, dance entertainment in her honor, and silent auctions.  Reservations can be made atwww.ohmanballet.org or by calling 631.462.6266  ($150/$75 child under 12).  For an additional $100 donation attendees can also meet Ms. Farrell on a more personal level at a special VIP Champagne Reception at 5:15 p.m.  "It is an honor and a privilege to have Ms. Farrell as our Special Guest.  She rarely accepts such invitations!" said Frank Ohman upon announcing her as his 2014 honoree.
