Synagogue, WPOB FM, Collecting for Alum's Army Unit

Private Jarrett Wooley is serving in the Army on the Kuwait-Iraq border.

Plainview residents are working hard to send a holiday package to a young man serving our country on the Iraq-Kuwait border.

The special collection is for U.S. Army Private Jarrett Wooley, the son of Plainview's Mark Wooley, a member of the Manetto Hill Jewish Center. Donations are being requested to help Jarrett, his squad, troop and platoon,

Time is short to get the donations to Jarrett's company. There is a box in the synagogue for donations, which are needed before Thursday evening, Dec. 5.

Because Jarrett is a Plainview JFK alumnus, WPOB and the Radio Club have also taken up the cause.

WPOB and the synagogue are collecting non-perishable goods for Jarrett, his squad, troop, and platoon (comprised on men and women). The following items are needed:

  • White socks
  • magazines
  • non-perishable food
  • books
  • toiletries
  • decks of cards.
For a full list of items, please check at WPOB FM. The station is mailing the packages on Friday, Dec. 13.
