Long-Time P-OB Schools Clerk Celebrates Retirement

Harriet Fischer, who served in role for 33 years, is honored by dignitaries at retirement dinner.

Harriet Fischer, who served the Plainview-Old Bethpage School District for over three decades, was honored at a retirement dinner last week. 

Fischer has been with the district for 33 years where she served as the school district's clerk. 

Dignitaries, including Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs, Superintendent Lorna Lewis and former Plainview Superintendent Gerard Dempsey where on hand to congratulate Fischer at the Jan. 8 dinner at La Famiglia in Plainview.

“Words are not adequate to express my deep appreciation to Harriet for her years of service, compassion, caring and assistance in all facets of the school district," said Jacobs. "She is a wonderful person and I wish her many, many years of health and happiness in her retirement.”
